Child Cancer Clusters

Wendy and Warren Brown live in Clyde, Ohio, where they were raising their four children. Their daughter Alexa was diagnosed with cancer and died in 2009 at 11 years old. Her cancer diagnosis is linked to a medical mystery that also affected 34 other children in and around their hometown. It was called the Eastern Sandusky County Childhood Cancer Cluster. The story made local and national news, and one of the reporters who told Alexa’s story was News 5’s Jonathan Walsh. Her story touched him in such a personal way that it inspired him to write a book titled “Is My Child Next? The Alexa Brown Story.” Joining Danita to discuss are Alexa’s mother, Wendy Brown, and award-winning investigative reporter Jonathan Walsh.
